U.S.-29 Enhanced Pedestrian Safety

Originally identified as critical infrastructure in 2014 through the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) Recommendation Committee and brought to life in 2024, this project enhanced pedestrian safety by adding a crosswalk with a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) at the eastbound entrance ramp of Ronald Reagan Parkway. A new sidewalk was also built along Pleasant Hill Road under the parkway overpass, connecting to existing sidewalks. “Wear paths” on the west side of Pleasant Hill Road highlighted the need for these improvements.
