The Bryson Park/Hood Road is a roundabout project designed to enhance visibility, reduce congestion and create a safer, more efficient route for both drivers and pedestrians. Now complete, the roundabout is improving traffic flow and providing a more accessible, welcoming roadway for Lilburn residents and visitors alike.
Breaking ground in 2023, the project made significant progress through 2024 and reached completion in 2025. This vital infrastructure upgrade is set to improve safety and traffic efficiency throughout the 2025–2026 school year and for years to come.
This $4.3 million investment is a true example of local collaboration. Designed by LCID in partnership with the City of Lilburn, it’s funded through a $1 million Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB) grant, $2.2 million from the City, $300,000 from LCID and additional contributions from the Gwinnett County Transportation Department and a GDOT Local Maintenance Improvement Grant (LMIG).
Following the completion of this transformative project, Lilburn CID celebrated with a ribbon-cutting event in September 2025, honoring both the milestone and the remarkable partnerships that made it possible. Featured speakers included Nicole Love Hendrickson, Chairwoman, Gwinnett County Commission; Ben Ku, District 2 Commissioner, Gwinnett County; David Cassell, Strategic Programs Administrator, State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA); Johnny Crist, Mayor, City of Lilburn; Jenny Simpkins, City Manager, City of Lilburn and Tad Leithead, Executive Director, Lilburn Community Improvement District (LCID).
