Beautification

U.S.-29 Transformation

The Lilburn Community Improvement District (CID) proudly provided 100% of the funding for a series of impactful landscaping upgrades at three major intersections along Highway 29. This corridor enhancement project addressed long-overdue beautification needs while helping to further define and elevate the identity of the CID.

Rockbridge Road & Indian Trail
In June, all four corners of the Rockbridge Road intersection were professionally landscaped, marking the first phase of the corridor makeover. By late 2017, similar enhancements were completed at the Indian Trail intersection, transforming all four corners. Additionally, the grass median near Indian Trail and Burns Road was upgraded with a canopy of crepe myrtle trees, low-growing shrubs and vibrant ground cover plantings.

Beaver Ruin Road
In early 2018, the CID completed landscaping on all four corners of the Beaver Ruin Road intersection. The plantings mirrored the design elements used at Rockbridge, creating visual continuity throughout the corridor.

Across all locations—including medians where appropriate—plant selections included a colorful and resilient mix of: Dwarf wax myrtles, pink knock-out roses, pink muhly grass, crape myrtles, liriope, yaupon holly, fountain grass, abelia, Walter’s viburnum, sweet shrub, serviceberry and loropetalums.

These enhancements contributed to curb appeal, boosting property values and contributing to a more welcoming and unified community corridor.
