LCID Board Unanimously Approves Millage Rage for 2021

During the July 13 board meeting, the Lilburn CID Board of Directors voted on the 2021 property tax millage rate and unanimously agreed on a rate of 5 mils. The millage rate is anticipated to yield approximately $500,000 annually from commercial property members within the CID, which help to fund infrastructure, security and beautification improvements along the Hwy 29 corridor and surrounding areas throughout the district.

Lost No More: Wayfinding Update

Be on the lookout for fresh signs in the City of Lilburn! The CID and the City of Lilburn partnered to fund directional and landmark sign installation and have selected Lilburn-based architectural and digital signage company Capital Signs to begin installation. The new signs will replace the wayfinding signage outside City Hall and add a beautiful pop of color to the district. Vehicular I.D. signs are also in production and with the Georgia Department of Transportation for permitting.

Improving Intersection Crossing Safety

Gwinnett County recently proposed the Pre-emptive Traffic Signal Project to allow first responders to safely cross intersections using technology to change traffic signals. The first phase of the two-part proposal will install cutting-edge technology in emergency vehicles to signal traffic lights as they approach an intersection, changing or keeping the light green to control traffic flow and allow emergency response vehicles to travel safely through. Phase two of the project aims to modify 50% of Gwinnett’s traffic signals (385 of the 743) this year. Lawrenceville Highway and several of its sidestreets are included in this plan with the LCID funding approximately 17% of the signal costs.

Keeping Lilburn Clean and Green!

Russell Landscape Group has been busy this year keeping our corridors well maintained. The crew regularly picks up debris along U.S. 29, removes graffiti on Lawrenceville Highway and prunes back brush overgrowth along Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Beaver Ruin Road. Let’s hear it for Russell Landscape Group!
