The Lilburn CID recently co-hosted three neighborhood educational meetings about the upcoming March 19 vote on the Gwinnett Transit Referendum. With more than 70 people in attendance at Plaza Las Americas, Lilburn City Hall and Lilburn Alliance Church, we saw great interaction and questions from those interested in learning how the vote will impact their transit and commute options.
LCID is grateful to have co-sponsors that included the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Lilburn Business Association, Lilburn Woman’s Club, Sheikh Rahman, Representative Jasmine Clark, Representative Dewey McClain and Representative Pedro Marin.
Gwinnett County DOT staff including Lewis Cooksey, Edgardo Aponte, David Tucker and Karen Winger, along with MARTA representatives Luz Borrero, Colleen Kiernan and Dave Springstead, gave presentations about the projects and service that would become available through execution of the contract with MARTA.
