Emory Morsberger Resigns as Lilburn CID President and Becomes Gateway85 CID Executive Director
Lilburn, GA – April 1, 2019— Beginning today, Emory Morsberger will lead the Gateway85 Community Improvement District (CID) as executive director, following the resignation of Marsha Bomar who recently accepted a position with MARTA as assistant general manager for Program Delivery. Morsberger, who was president of the Lilburn CID (LCID), resigned on March 29, and will help to transition the organization through June 30, 2019.
“I know the Lilburn CID will continue to thrive with another leader and a board that is focused on improvement,” added Morsberger. LCID Vice Chair Ed O’Connor will handle inquiries about the LCID position at 678.438.8663.
Under Morsberger, the LCID has also made immense progress on upgrades of the Lawrenceville Hwy Corridor, from Jimmy Carter Blvd. to Ronald Reagan Parkway, including infrastructure improvements that are under construction and planned valued at more than $26 million.
Morsberger joins Gateway85 with a long history of involvement in the development, management and growth of community improvement districts in Georgia, including his current involvement as president of the Tucker Summit CID and Metro South CID, formerly the Greater Conley Industrial CID. In fact, Morsberger was instrumental in forming Gateway85 CID (formerly Gwinnett Village CID) in 2005, where he also has served on the board of directors. He has a strong vision for the area and will continue to gain momentum with his plan for the future of the largest CID in Georgia.
“I look forward to continuing the great work that Marsha and the organization have accomplished over the past 13 years,” Morsberger says. “I will strive to make Gateway85 an incredible corridor where businesses and the community will prosper.”
